Hits! Gives Back

Hits! The Musical cast members are busy this holiday season making donations to needy families. With 29 cast members throughout the country, the cast has been very active donating their time and money to make this a brighter and happier holiday season for many.

10 year old Karsen Taylor from Louisville, KY dressed as an elf and donated to St. Vincent DePaul Louisville Santa Shop. She volunteered to help families shop and donated money to the food bank.

Jacob Rassi took his $200 from Bob plus used a portion of his own money that he earned during the rehearsal period and purchased cards from a local grocery store. He was able to help pass out these gift cards to 10 families at the Mountain Christian Church on Thanksgiving Day, so they could go buy groceries.

Jacob Vella purchased fabric and helped assemble 21 blankets for students of the Canyon State Academy. These blankets are given to help them feel less scared while away from their families.

Kassidy Gavagan gave back to Kingsley’s Ray of Sunshine Organization. This organization collects crocs to donate to children going through chemotherapy. Kassidy used the money to buy multiple-size crocs for the organization. She also donated two tickets to the show for Kingsley and her mom and donated her own money, so Kingsley could buy souvenirs at Disney during her Make a Wish foundation trip.

Jaedon Diaz donated to the nephrotic syndrome foundation. This foundation is close to his heart because Jaedon was diagnosed with nephrotic syndrome when he was two years old. After years of doctor visits, he is now healthy and loves to give back to this foundation.

JJ Carandang chose to give gift packages of food and goodies to 30 indigent/needy kids in the Philippines (town – Santo Domingo Barotac Viejo). JJ wants to have the kids and their families food on their tables to share together on Christmas Eve, to experience and feel the joy of celebrating Noche Buena. JJ wants them to feel the essence of Christmas and family.

Mckenzie Lewis used the money to buy toiletries to donate to the Imagine If organization. This organization helps those in need and those experiencing homelessness.

Nella Hilden bought needed items for her local food bank and for the providence animal shelter.

Philanthropy and giving back are important values to Executive Producer, Bob Gries. Regardless of your age or the amount of money you have, there are still important ways you can better others’ lives. I’m really pleased to see our cast members making a difference and bringing smiles to so many during the holiday season.
